High levels of physical activity can help thwart a gene that normally causes people to gain weight, according to a new study by researchers at the University of Maryland School of Medicine reported by ScienceDaily. They analyzed gene variants and found that the obesity-related FTO gene had no effect on individuals who were the most physically active, weight loss fat burners.

It is commonly thought that our current levels of inactivity as a society did not exist as few a 200 years ago. People’s lives were much more active and demanding, making diet not as important with obesity as it today. Lack of exercise can also act as a trigger for obesity in genetically receptive people.
Many people are not able to be weight loss fat burners. Science will come to our aid sometime in the future, countering our lovely sedentary and technological ways of modern living to ‘level the playing field of FTO gene’ holders.
