Good news! Although bone loss is associated with weight loss for obese individuals, same is not true for young adults. Young adults who follow a diet that is low in calories but nutritionally sound for six months appear to lose weight and fat without crucial bone loss.

Having too much fat stored in the liver is known as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, or nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Studies testing orlistat for improvement in fatty liver diet concluded that while the drug did not make a difference in the disease, weight loss did.
